In “Pillow Book”, over the course of one body cycle — 26 days — I drew the same view daily: a pine tree and the sky. The changes in line, composition, and tone reflected transformations of my body throughout the cycle. Drawings on wrapping paper were clipped to a laundry rack, evoking domestic routine and rhythm. From afar, the viewer perceives the cycle as a whole; up close, the intimacy of each trace and the breath of time become visible.
